Day 1: Borda Count We will start out with a nice, straightforward voting method, the Borda Count. In the borda count, people rank the people they vote for, with each successively named person receiving proportionally less voting power. In gameplay terms, each person will vote for three people today. The first person they vote for will receive 1 "point", the second, 1/2 a point, and the third 1/3 of a point. The three people with the most points at 4:00 PM PST on Friday will be eliminated. If there's a tie, then the people who reached that point total first will be eliminated. If someone manages to create a tie that would involve multiple people at the same time, I'll be quite impressed. We can keep track and discuss in here. Also, MrT's Spreadsheet is useful.

I agree that in a game with no specials Infidel is probably the closest thing they have to a Seer, and that in a game with an emphasis on vote records Phyphor's magic box is too useful to leave alive.
But I'm not a huge fan of killing them day 1. Seems mean.
Plus, they don't have a guard, so we can kill them tomorrow or the day after with no problem.

Boo hoo for mean, here we have good reasons. Particularly the magic box.
And MrT soon too in the hopes that no one will update his spreadsheet.

As a heads up, nobody else vote for Shiny or Void now. We don't want to appear to be colluding and all that.
Let's not always put our Mafia vote in the 3rd spot either. We should put them in the top and middle spot occasionally so that it doesn't appear too obvious that it is a throwaway vote, keeps it unpredictable. Plus, if one of us goes down, being in the outed mafia's number one spot is a good defense.

I just happened to pick shiny at random for third when I changed my vote. I was a little worried about that too when the page refreshed.

From the magic box as of post 200: SLyM: 39 kime: 39 Taya: 39 anomalousvandal: 28 The Anonymous: 21
Shiny New Toys: 20 romanqwerty: 15 MrTLicious: 14 Void Slayer: 14 Bedlam: 12
That means that two of the top five are ours, and four of us are in the top 10. One of us is currently in a 3-way tie for 1st, and the top 3 people die. We don't have to worry about being Vigged tonight, but getting kime out of the top 3 without making ourselves obvious...

Oh, important! WEIRD VOTE CLOSE TIME!
Don't forget the Vote Close is tonight at 7pm. By my watch, that is about 4 hours from now.
If kime dies, everyone who had Taya or SLyM without him is going to look really suspicious. But switching to vote for him now, also suspicious. We need to get kime out of the top 3 while simultaneously getting The Anonymous more votes then AnomalousVandal while simultaneously not making it obvious and hence making it suspicious that the mafia didn't just put the vote on AnomalousVandal instead.
Any suggestions?

I don't know if I'll get time to look at the spreadsheet or the magic box before the vote. If anyone gets a chance and finds a solution. Let me know I'll adjust my vote. Maybe we can sneak something game changing last minute that would go unnoticed?

Any last minute shenanigans by us would only get us killed too. kime could do last minute shenanigans, but he'd need to convince a lot of people to switch beforehand for them to matter.
We should decide on Kill Targets. I'll check in about an hour from now and put in a placeholder if nobody else has done it. Since the current vote is 2 for killing Infy/Phyphor, 1 against, that's the order I'll put in if nothing changes.

I put in placeholder kills in accordance with majority wishes. I'll likely be back before vote close, but if something unlikely happens and there are better options, feel free to change it.
Food for thought: if we kill people who went with a first place kime vote that narrows the pool who are "mostly confirmed", meaning the pool of people we can hide in will be bigger. That might not be as helpful as offing Infy and Phyphor, but it seemed worth discussing.
